Dropped over at Nismo Omori Factory on Saturday to take a look at the Skyline GT-R fair. With a nice selection of GT-Rs from people that had dropped by and Nismo demo cars on display it made for an interesting little event. They even had the Gr.A Taisan R32 GT-R in the newly renovated workshop, right behind the number 001 yellow 400R. There were two Z-tunes on display as well as the now retired GT500 Z33 racer not to mention the engine packages Omori Factory offers. There was also an R35 GT-R there on Nismo plates, but why it was there was rather confusing. It has been announced that Nismo will not make any parts for this new GT-R as it’s been forced by Nissan to only concentrate on the motorsports side of things. It’s a real pity, I couldn’t help but feel that this event would have been packed with new GT-Rs if Nismo actually produced parts for it. Come on Nissan, PLEASE let Nismo do what it’s good at! It doesn’t have to create 700PS engines to upset the ancient members of the Japanese government (who have no problem allowing 500+ PS import cars to be sold in Japan….or modified for that matter!). Small hop-up parts will do, carbon bits, air boxes, suspension, brake pads, interior gadgets and of course body parts/wheels!!

Very nice! As for GT-R35… if you pray hard I am sure something NISMO will be coming our way for the GT-R35
NISMO will definitely not leave the GT-R35 untouched. Look out for somethin coming soon
The Taisan Group A R32 is pure sex.
Amazing GTR’s and the Omori factory is jaw dropping. Thanks for sharing
awesome pics as usual , Dino!!!
Z-Tune is privat car or it own to Nismo?.
About Nismo and new GT-R, I’m sure Nismo’ll developed something for GT-R …I hope ^_^
Hi Dino, did you take any photos of the silver Nismo R33 demo car?
http://cba-r35.blogspot.com/2008/07/spec-v-preview.html
nismo will be developing parts! not much, but its using this car at the link to do testing on parts for release. gtrblog and gtr-world.com have more pictures and news about it.
I think you are mistaken. That is the race car Nismo will be running at the Tokachi 24h race in Hokkaido at the end of the month. I posted about this car a few days ago when GTR World showed it in the workshop at Nismo (when it was white)
so all the parts they developed for the tokachi 24h car are one-offs?!?! that doesn’t make any kind of sense. i think mindlessoath has got it right. the parts will either appear on the v-spec as standard or on its options list.
how can nismo say they won’t develop parts when they’ve obviously already developed parts? i think what they mean is they won’t be SELLING nismo-branded parts for the r35. instead nismo will be doing the r&d, but all the parts will appear on whatever factory r35 variant nissan themselves want to market and sell. of course i’m just speculating, wtf do i know?
